Canadian citizenship test — what to expect

The Canadian citizenship test checks your knowledge of Canada's history, geography, government, symbols, and the rights and responsibilities of citizens. Questions are based on the official study guide Discover Canada.

How the test works

• You answer 20 multiple-choice or true/false questions on a computer or on paper.
• You pass when you answer 15 questions correctly (75%).
• You have 30 minutes to complete the test.
• The test is available in English or French — the two official languages of Canada.
